hopefully rogers sees that and allows iphone 3g buyers to do an early upgrade if possible!

I could easily write an essay about price gouging by Canadian mobile providers.
1. 3 year contracts
2. $7 monthly access fees
3. $7 for call display
4. Ridiculous data rates
5. Awful minutes per $ plans
Can't say I'm surprised. The sad thing is Bell and Telus are as bad if not worse and CDMA. Fido's improved but other than the iPhone and Pearl has a terrible selection and you still have to wait a lifetime to get out of a current contract.

Yeah, I work for Rogers too, and I am definitely not surprised by the pricing. At least employees get half off on phone plans...that's SOMETHING, right? 
Oh well, I'm still getting my first Canadian iPhone this Friday, gonna ask my manager if he can hold a white 32GB for me, since we do not have pre-orders.
The bad thing about the no contract pricing is...at least for people that are coming off contract or people just joining, they won't be able to take advantage of the $30 6GB data plan, since that is only available on a contract. (If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. Source)

Yes. And officially, Rogers never gives out unlocking codes for any phones of any brand, ever.
