do you have to get a plan to get the ROKR. i alreayd have cingular and i want a new phone, but not a contract.

It looks like you have to get a 2 year contract. Believe me, in 2 years, you'll be hating that first-gen ROKR.

probably right about hating it. does anyone know if you can make a song a ringtone bc that would be awesome!
 
I don't think you have to sign a service contract. The guys from Engadget and iLounge both bought them without signing a contract. I think the price is like $350 though. You should go to or call your local Cingular store to find out for sure.
