"Legend of the Skyfish 2" is this week's addition to Apple Arcade on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV:
A hundred years have passed since the hero known as Little Red Hook ended the reign of terror of Skyfish, the Lord of the Deep Seas... and now the peace that civilization struggled so much to build is in danger again.

As the last Red Hook guardians, you and your master must use the atypical tool of your clan - the Combat Fishing Pole - as both a weapon and a grappling hook to face the rising threat.

Unveil an exciting story as you journey in a world full of intriguing characters and devious traps. Explore gorgeous landscapes and mysterious dungeons while defeating mutant abyssal creatures.
"Legend of the Skyfish 2" is available on the App Store with an Apple Arcade subscription. The service provides iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac users with access to over 100 games with no in-app purchases or ads for $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year.

Didn’t play this game yet, but with Spyder and all those games Arcade is becoming one of the best services in gaming industry.
😂😂😂how? Oceanhorn was the only thing worth playing and the ending sucked. I cancelled right after I beat it. Now I discovered Nvidia GeForce Now

I had bought the first one thinking it was a SNES style Zelda Clone. OMG have I been wrong. The first game was COMPLETE and utter garbage. Try it... since it is free (if you have Apple Arcade)... but I'm pretty certain this will suck, too.

Dang, that's too bad. Had high hopes. Would love a proper Zelda experience on iOS. I wish we'd see a flurry of high quality AAA / top-notch indie games come to iOS.

Cuphead on iOS would be my absolute dream come true.

You could try the original "Oceanhorn" which is pretty solid. Idk about Oceanhorn 2 (which is part of Apple Arcade afaik), haven't played it, yet.

I haven't played Oceanhorn 1, but 2 is so sooooo much like BOTW that it's borderline a ripoff. That's not to say it isn't good, however! My kids are playing through it and enjoying it. They played all the way through BOTW and it's clearly worth the price of admission here. Might even purchase Oceanhorn 1 after they're done with it.

...But I've been wondering about a decent RPG for them to get their feet wet. They've never played an RPG (not even the Pokemon games) so I'm wondering if this would be a decent entry into the genre.

Thoughts?

I am waiting for "The Pathless" once that comes on Apple Arcade that will be the beginning of a new era, running AAA level games would be a win for Apple as a mainstay console competitor.

My whole family disagree. I guess you don’t have kids. I have a PlayStation where I play console games but most people don’t need one.
I guess the trick is to have a mix of AAA games and Kids/Family games and Apple will be unbeatable in short run, though i would not bet too much on it because streaming is pretty close to becoming a reality. Just a matter of time 1-2 yrs maybe.

Why do the majority of Apple Arcade games look cartoonish. Are the devs allowed to make games with realistic graphics catered to adults?

Probably the same reason why there are so many "pixel art" games. Meaning, I have no idea and can't understand it. "Cute" and "nostalgia" are the typical answers, and both are absurd IMO.
