roll back to 3.12 possible on iphone?

4.0 is so SLOW on my iphone 3 g, I have yet to find a way to roll back to 3.13 or 3.12 ,WITHOUT getting the wrong firmware message , does anybody know how ?

tried a few things mentioned on this site but nothing worked so far...
