A rooted Nook Color might be a better deal depending on what you want to do. I have an iPad and still think that Honeycomb on the Nooks looks pretty neat.

The rooted Nook Color is a great hybrid tablet, because you can retain the original Nook reader abilities while also installing many Android apps. There's no 3G on the NC, so you'd have to use wifi.
