Rotated external display looses the scaling configuration

OS X 10.11.4
MBP 13" 2015
Display Dell P2715Q (via Mini Display Port)

By default the external display has
"Resolution: Standard for Display".
That is equal to "Looks like 1920x1080"

I choosed the scale "Looks like 2560x1440".

Now I rotate the screen by 90°.

After that, the resolution ist back to "Standard for Display".

What is my mistake please?

Why is the scale getting lost?
How can I change that please? I have to rotate often.
