Rotating wallpaper won't stop!

The other day I played around with the settings for the rotating
wallpaper options in the desktop preferences. Now, even though I've
unchecked the option (dual monitors) on both screens, they're still
rotating! It won't stop. I've restarted, deleted the preferences file
in the Users/Library/Preferences folder. Still rotating...

I have no idea where to start. I'm running 10.3.8. Any ideas?
