Rotation on iPhone 3GS malfunctioning

Hi all,

I have an iPhone 3GS, 16GB and I have used it for about 4 years. The rotation on the Messages app has stopped working suddenly for some reason.

The rotation works for all other apps and the rotation lock is disabled.

Please help.
