heya,

Just went to look at wireless routers, many brands - price ranged from $30 to $100 (give or take) ..

used seems to run about 10%-20% off the cost of new, so this makes no sense.

Any advice on what to buy?
Brand
G or N
model

I am currently living in a 1 bedroom apartment - my neighbour will probably share wireless with me - but it has been working fine with a standard bell wireless modem, so odds are whatever router will do the trick.

I'm using an N capable macbook. -- and I likely won't be playing any bandwidth intensive games.

Thanks!

fyi

i should mention that price is a factor. .. if the airport express is much much better than other routers, then it makes sense -- otherwise, not so much.

more..

and to pose another question -- how does this compare to a non-apple router? what's the range on it? ..

essentially, if it's a good product, why is the extreme more expensive with (seemingly) less functionality?

The Airport Express can only support up to 10 clients; its for small apartments and such.

Anyways, I would suggest maybe the Linksys WRT310N; good value.
