Router restrictions on the iMac

I have a baseline 21.5 inch iMac, and I'm about to get a new router. I'm seeing that there are g routers and n routers. Will my iMac connect to both? Any reason I should get one over the other?

it will support both. Go for 'N' as it will be faster/better wireless range...
