Hi,
Just bought another computer for my house(emac).
Now need to set up both for the internet.
I take it i do this with a router?
Any recommendations on which brand to buy or one to stay away from?
Any problem with having the two computers on different floors?
thanks

As long as both of the computers have a wireless card, you should be all set.

I use a Belkin N router, but in the past, I've had good luck with other brands as well.

Do u mean like airport of something?
My old one is a imac 400 do not think it has one for sure.

I say STAY AWAY FROM LINKSYS!

I currently use this router
it doesn't have 802.11n but it's still nice if you're a gamer.

Also if your computers are on two difference floors make you could use wired (wired always has better strength) or get a strong wireless router and/or a wireless extender.

Don't forget that Apple also makes their own brand of http://store.apple.com/AppleStore/W...m=MA073LL/A&wosid=jA42Gl6aif1w3weGDu4JkePqhkR it's just that they don't have a Gigabit ethernet port for fast file sharing w/ other computers on your network and they only have 3 LAN ports. If only they made one w/ a Gigabit LAN and 4 LAN but the wireless-n makes up for that I'm sure.

I'm really not an expert on this but this is just my 2 cents.
