I've been reading and reading old posts on routers. I found out that I will indeed need a router for a wireless connection with this local company. Dilemma now is which router to get
WAY confused! I'm done talking with these local people - they don't know macs at all. I'm glad I did some research on this subject or they would have led me down the way wrong road!!
My concern is... if I get hooked up with this wireless canopy system and I get dropped connection via my router, then I'm screwed!
Right now I'm using dial up and yes it is slow but I don't get dropped.
I was looking at getting the linksys WRT54G router. My question is.... you guys that are getting dropped, is this mainly from DSL connections? Would it be the same with satellite and this canopy system (I guess they call it a fixed wireless system)?
