Roxio Popcorn audio selection

should be an easy one this (I hope)
if i burn a dvd with (POPCORN) primary audio only selected, usually resulting in Dolby5.1 being chosen, am i making a mistake if its only going to be heard in stereo? (i.e. no surround system being used)
should i choose 'all' for audio to make sure i have dolby2.0 or does it make no difference?
just thought if the computer transfers dolby5.1 'back' to two channels do strange thing start happening?!

Well, I would say keep the 5.1 audio and ditch the rest. Any DVD player should be able to downmix the 5.1 to stereo sound, which is all you are using NOW.

But if you someday get a 5.1 system, or you take the movie to someone elses place who has 5.1 sound, then you are really going to be bummed that you don't have that option on the disc, and you will have to re-rip and re-encode them all over again.

Dolby 5.1 is compatible back to normal stereo. No worries. Keep the Dolby.
