I just got it and i was disapointed. I went to my DVD collection (1000 strong), looked for LOTR (lorsd of teh ring) since its been like 1 year since i last watched it. I installed the software and when i tryed to burn it to watch it on my desktop it says it was SSC (or something) encrypted  . I dont by elligal movies, i dont sell them, i dont rent them and burn them to a DVD i just want to use it for myself. I just started mactheripper and it worked fine :(

If all you wanted to do was rip the movie to your hard drive and watch it, all you would need is the freeware mactheripper app.

Once you've ripped it with mactheripper, than you can burn the Video files to a DVD with Popcorn. But I see you've found this out the hard way.

Popcorn doesn't do decryption, silly.

"Versatile Copier
Copy non-encrypted* DVD-Video discs, disc image files, and valid VIDEO_TS folders from hard disk. Compatible with DVD-Video content from popular ripping utilities.†"

*Some* would argue that is illegal ;)
