Hi, I own some dvds from other countries outside my region and well I would love to be able to watch them on my mac. I have looked all over the Internet for the firmware to my imac and no such luck so I was wondering if someone on here has the firmware and would PM it to me .

MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-875:

Firmware Revision: DB09
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
Cache: 2048 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO

basic profile of my dvd drive, hopefully that helps.

is it a dvd ripper so rips an avi file to my mac? or like an ISO?

ETA: So I'm installing it and running it but would still like the firmware because I don't want to have to rip the movie everytime I want to watch it and I also don't want to keep it on my hard disk you know what I mean?
