Am I the only one having this problem? A couple times a day at least, the macrumors RSS feed seems to somehow "refresh" 20-30 of the last posts, causing them to look like new posts to my reader (NetNewsWire). It's getting annoying to the point where I'm about to just dump macrumors from my feeds.

I use Vienna and have seen no problem. An individual item will reappear if we edit/update the article (well, at least the portion of it included in the feed), but that obviously wouldn't account for 20-30 articles suddenly reappearing as new all at once.

You might want to check with NetNewsWire's support forums to see if they can figure out what's going on. They're pretty good at diagnosing these things.

Hm, odd, I haven't seen it with any of my other 20 or so feeds.

well a better question would be: how often does the rss feed update?

The front page RSS feed updates instantly.

what is the url for the macrumors rss feed for the forums?

The general forum index has it's rss feed here and each forum has it's own rss feed I believe, For example: Site and forum feedback.

There should be a RSS button in the address bar for each forum.

As for the update timing of these I have no idea.

oh ok thanks. it seems that the rss feed for the index doesn't update that often, maybe once an hour?

To clarify, we manually update the feed whenever we post a new article, so in that sense, it is instantaneous. We have on occasion forgotten to update the feed upon publication, so a new article might not show up right away, but updating the RSS feed is part of our routine, so forgetting to do that should happen only extremely rarely.

and is the forum index updated hourly?
