RSS Feed links - copy/paste possible?

I am just getting into the usefulness of RSS feeds but have come across a problem. At least one academic journal publisher (ScienceDirect) does not support RSS on the Mac. I have tried to copy and paste the feed link into the RSS directory of Safari but with no luck. Is there:

a) a way of copying and pasting/importing feed links into Safari?

b) an RSS feeder which permits a) if Safari doesn't?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.
