RSSRadio - love th eapp, cannot explain it's data usage

I have auto downloading OFF for all my subscriptions (Download - None - Manual Downloads).
Manually downloaded one 12 MB podcast.
Onavo Extend is reporting that RSSRadio used 21 MB that day - all MP3 content as it seems as there was no compression saving.

Anyone else seen this sort of thing? Is there an RSSRadio hints & tips page on how to be double sure RSSRadio will never use 3g for it's stuff?
Have WiFi downloads only set already, but now I'm worried.
