Hello All,
I am in need of a creative solution. And, for reference, I am using Apple's Mail in the current version of Leopard (10.5.4).
I have been unable to locate a rule or AppleScript that will serve my purpose. Perhaps one of you out there has stumbled onto one that I've missed (or knows of a simple solution).
I have a person I correspond with daily. I send e-mail to their personal address. But, any replies from their computer go from their shared address (shared account that is split between two individuals).
Messages I send to their personal account will only be seen by the one person.
Messages sent to the shared account will be seen by both.
All messages sent from their computer go from the shared account / e-mail address.
So, when I receive and reply to a message from this person, I must delete their shared e-mail address from the "To" box when I am replying and enter their personal address instead.
Not a huge hassle. But, I would prefer something automated.
Such as when messages are received (or when I reply to a message) that is from this address, that the address will automatically be changed for me.
Like: If received message sender is YYYYYYYY@YYYY.com then change sender to ZZZZZZZ@ZZZZ.com
Or,
Like: If sending message to YYYYYYYY@YYYY.com then change destination address to ZZZZZZZ@ZZZZ.com
Basically, so that I don't accidentally forget to manually change the address and then send something that should not be read by the other party.
Let me know your ideas.
Unfortunately, the individual making the change on their end isn't an option (corporate computer).
A rule, or AppleScript that could be tied to a rule, or whatever else... Let me know if you have any suggestions that might work.
Like I said, I know it's a simple thing to do it manually. But, I reply to so many messages every day that I could easily forget one time. And, that would be the time I put something in there that the other person shouldn't read.
