I did a quick search, but I have no clue what good keywords would be.
Short form:
can I install Windows programs onto my Mac partition and run them in Windows?
Long form:
I use my Windows partition for gaming (let me guess - you've heard that one before?), but I only allotted about 60 gigs. I have one game (Dragon Age) taking up about 20 gigs (which seems super high, but maybe it's all the DLC and expansion...), Windows another 12, and there's some combination of stuff taking up another 10. I'm about to finally run Baldur's Gate for the umpteenth time (first time in a long while though), but BG and BGII will take up 5 gigs, and then I'll be using various mods that I've always thought would be fun to play with. The mods will take at least another 10 gigs, which will be pushing my hard drive space.
Can I install the game onto the Mac partition of my hard drive and run them, or will I need to install it onto an external hard drive?
I have an old portable external that I doubt will be up to the task of running anything for a long period of time. It's got stuff I don't really want to risk losing either way. I'll be getting a new desktop external hard drive soon, but as I'm in MUST PLAY NOW mode, I don't want to wait for Newegg or MacMall to ship stuff. Plus I just bought a bike, so I should exercise SOME restraint on spending.
And, yes, I know that if I had just bought the 500 gig hard drive for my MBP I would have just allotted more space to Windows, and I wouldn't be in this predicament!
Thanks y'all!
