Run SlingStudio Console App on unsupported Macbook Pro

Has anyone gotten past the hardware id check in SlingStudio to get it to run on an older mac? I'm trying to use it on a 2011 Macbook Pro on High Sierra. I know it needs 802.11 ac wifi, I'm planning on purchasing one of Subtle Design's wifi cards in the near future for that requirement. Thanks.
