so i have a 3G and im planning to upgrade to 4.0.1 OS, should i do it or not? any of you guys can chime in and help me? a buddy of mine updated to the OS4 and his phone seems more sluggish now that he's running OS4. he has a 3g as well. any of you guys having a 3G that upgraded to 4.0.1 may tell me the pros and cons?

I say don't do it.
FWIW - I have a 3G which I upgraded to 4.0, and then 4.0.1. Performance got slightly better with the latter update and I've tried a few of the tweaks people have suggested, but it still is noticeably slower/buggier than before. Not worth it IMO for folders and a camera zoom I'll hardly ever use.
I am planning on downgrading back to 3.x.x in the near future.

I have a 3G and upgraded to iOS4, one piece of advice... DO NOT DO IT! I could not take it and downgraded to 3.1.3 and have loved it ever since.
Dont get me wrong i love the Unified inbox and folders, but totally not worth waiting 17 seconds for your texts to show up.... terrible speed
