Running a virtual of Snow Leopard..how do pass through USB Devices [iPad]?

I'm running a virtual of Snow Leopard and have installed XCode 3, but I can't figure out how to get the Mac to see my iPad when connecting it to my PC. I'm using VMWare Workstation and there is a button that appears when the iPad is connected. This will allow my to disconnect it from the host [Win 7] and pass it through to the Virtual [Snow Leopard].

But this doesn't happen at all. Any ideas?
