Hi,
In our company we run a whole bunch of PCs with an IBM AS/400 server, wich is mainly used for bookkeeping and the client database. Lately we had a lot of trouble with most of the PCs, so I (being one of the only mac users at home) convinced my boss to concider switching to mac.

The only trouble is that the as/400 system must be kept so the older employees won't have to much trouble and it must be able to run it on osX (not via boothcamp, vmware or parallels).

I found a topic on this forum that handled this topic:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/106962/

The application reffered to in this topic: MochaSoft TN5250 for Mac OS X, which is exactly what I am looking for, and it seems to be mac os X.5 compatible. But the demo seems to be offline and I realy need this to do my demonstration with my macbook for my boss.

Can anyone give me other good recommandations or tell me where I could find a server that still has the demo on it.

Cheerz,
Fred

I am not sure , I understand the description: "demo is offline"

Our mocha macx tn5250 client can as always be downloaded from our web site mochasoft.dk .

If you cannot make a connection to the AS/400 with TN5250, my best guess is a network problem, maybe a firewall stopping the traffic.

If you have questions about mocha macx tn5250, please write to support@mochasoft.dk

I now realise that I only tried to download the demo from my work and did not try it at home yet, so it could just be the firewall on the company's network blocking me from downloading the demo.

It was the firewall preventing me from downloading the demo.
The application works great! It only took me a couple of seconds to set everything up (as400 ip number, server name & port) and I could exactly do what I used to do on a PC. I must say my boss was really fond of it :D.
