I know on Apple's website, it says that one of the requirements of color are that you need a 1920x1200 screen or something like that.

Can anybody whose got Final Cut Studio, an external monitor PLUS a 13' Macbook Pro tell me what happens when they use color. It is possible right?

OK. and if it does indeed work... like I think it should. Can you put your preview and scopes on the laptops monitor and all your other tools on your external monitor?

Yes you can separate between the two monitors, or if you don't have a second monitor you can still run it in 1200x800, but it is just not recommended.
