Hello.
What I would like to do is run Logic Pro (the application itself, not just the audio) from an external drive. The reason for this is that some of the mixes I've been working on require more power. We have a dual G5 at school, but it's going to be imaged soon, so all applications I install on it will be erased every day. I just tried to install Logic onto my external firewire drive, and it said the program must be installed on the drive running OSX. I know that macs are bootable from a firewire drive. So, would I be able to also install OSX on my external drive, boot from the drive, and then run Logic and all of it's audio from this drive? Am I asking too much from the firewire bandwidth?
This is really only essential for mixing and the occassional overdubs. Most serious recording will be done with my imac and ibook.
Thanks.
