Running Bootcamp and VMware fusion together

i dont know if this question has been asked before because its kinda hard to explain. Pretty much i have a 15" i7 2010 macbook pro and i want to install windows 7 on it. However i'm probably going to be playing games like black ops n stuff and i have heard that you dont get the most out of your mbp using a VM because osx is using some of the resources. I would really like to be able to do small windows tasks in a VM and also have the ability to play games in boot camp. So... is it possible to install windows in boot camp so i can play games AND boot a VM from the boot camp when i need to??

Yes. Install Boot Camp first and then follow this guide from VMWare.

Launch your BC partition, don't import it!
