Running Ipad2 with Mac Mini OS X 10.4.11

Hi, can it be done ? Can i run my old 2006 mac mini with an ipad 2 ?

Could I run it through icloud to listen to music what I have on itune mac mini at the moment ? running itune 9.02

I have tried to load up itune 10 but not letting me.

You need to update to at least 10.5 (Leopard) in order to run iTunes 10.5..this is necessary to run iTunes Match etc..

I have 10.5 running on my PowerBook G4, which is a PowerPC processor and only 1.25 GHz. I'm sure your mini can handle it.

I don't think it will if it's first generation mac mini. I have one of those beasts, and the furthest it will go is 10.4 (have had this confirmed with Apple care) when I needed to upgrade the OS so that I could change to a newer printer. In the end had to buy an older reconditioned printer because most new printers out of a box require 10.5 onwards

Although if it's a 2006 machine, it may be second generation (utilising the Intel processor although these were actually denoted macmini 1,1) in which case you may be in luck? First generation (mine was early 2005 and was denoted powermac 10,1) won't go beyond 10.4

In fact looking at your processor speed (1.83 GHz), you probably have a late 2006 machine which will definitely run 10.5 (Tiger)

Got the same Mini and SL runs like a charm.

Will use it as DVD player / Media Server now.

Since your Mini is Intel, you can run up to 10.6 Snow Leopard.

You definitely can run 10.5 too, just not the latest 10.7 Lion.
