I'm thinking about buying an iBook 900. One of the reasons for adding the iBook to my eMac twins would be to run Keynote off of it while giving presentations, using the $19 connector to a TV.

Keynote is pretty darned beautiful, but it has to be a resource hog. Am I going to be able to run Keynote on the iBook 900 without any choking problems? It has to run smoothly. Otherwise I'll just use Powerpoint on one of the laptops from my office and probably skip the iBook purchase altogether.

Your experiences/advice are appreciated.

i run keynote on mine, and it runs fine. i have 700 / 30 g ibook, with 640 mb ram.

get more ram, with 128 mb OS X will be painful.

:)

i run keynote and am perfectly happy with it on an iBook 600 with 640MB RAM. It should be fine for you, as said earlier, as long as you have a good amount of RAM.

yeah, the processor speed doesn't seem to matter, its really depends on the amount of ram. Juice up your ram and the progs will fly

I ran Keynote on my iBook 600 before I sold it. No problems whatsoever. But, I'd recommend getting more RAM. I had 384 in mine, and that was sufficient for most tasks.

same situation here: using a 12" 800 ibook (384 ram) and it works fine. Basically, do what you like as long as it's got more than 128MB.

500Mhz iBook, 576RAM & Keynote flies. Some of the transitions are slow, but hey. On a side note (not to freak you out or anything) but when I do a slideshow sometimes, the whole machine locks up and requires a reboot. Anyone else have this problem? Just started happening...
