Running parrallels windows 10 on Mac

I did have a bootcamp partition and had probelms with space so I decided to erase it and just use parallels.
I use Carbon copy cloner, does that record the entire disc with the windows section of parallels too. So if there is a failure the entire disc is backed up correct?

Read the bottom section of this article and other links. Basically yes but there can be issues with consistency of the VM files if backed up when it is running, or space issues if you use safety net versions on backups as the VM file containers are very large.
