Just got a new Intel iMac (2.16GHz Core 2 Duo) and installed my copy of Creative Suite (CS1 Mac Version) on it.

Illustrator and InDesign work fine, but Photoshop CS 'unexpectedly quits' when I try to open it (at the point it is 'Building TWAIN menu items').

The report includes the following...

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x70616e65

A colleague at work is running CS1 on his Intel MacBook - so I know it's Intel compatible (through Rosetta).

Could it be a compatibility problem with the Core 2 Duo?

Anyone running CS1 on a Core 2 Duo?

Any work around?

I've managed to solve the problem (after searching through the Apple dissussion boards).

I moved Photoshop's 'Plug-Ins' folder onto the desktop. Photoshop now runs, and I will put the plug-ins back one by one to see which was causing the crash.
