I just bought two BluRay/DVD external USB drives for my Mac on eBay. Does anybody know of any software or how I could run a test on them to see how fast it reads the discs? I want to see which one is faster and when it comes to ripping discs. Anybody know of any software or anyway I can conduct those tests?

makemkv gives speed as it's reading. it will go faster the further you get into the disc, but that's the way they work. (disc spins at a constant speed, the further out you go, the more rapidly the disc is passing over the LASER)
you may want to time it with a stopwatch.

USB2 or USB3?
if 2, then USB will be the limitation, as both drives should be faster than the interface.
if 3, you may see a difference.
