Running Zoom on a MacBook Air

I had a Zoom call this morning so I borrowed an M1 Air and installed the native Zoom software. Performance was fine and battery usage for a 1+ hour call was 10%. If this were on my old 2015 MacBook Pro 13, I think that it would have used at least half the battery and the fan noise would have been a distraction. The M1 Air is a truly remarkable system. I'd go out and buy one if it came in 15 inches and had some more ports.

I've used Zoom on mine all day with battery >50% at the end. Screen brightness has the biggest impact.

I had it on full-screen and fairly bright.

At any rate, it was a fantastic experience.

I'm considering getting one of these for myself as my son is borrowing my 2014 MacBook Pro until he can get the battery replaced in his work-issued laptop. I'm limited to my iPad Mini for use in the living room these days.
