RIP, Hitcher. Finally travelling the Shoulder of Orion and Thannhäuser Gate?

The scene really is touching - now that he's gone even more so. Notice the white swallow rising...

Brilliant, haunting scene, one that gave the movie a powerful emotional and intellectual heft and balance it would otherwise have lacked.

RIP Rutger Hauer.

"Tears in rain" is the most impactful cinematic monologue that I've ever seen and heard in my life.

Preceded by one of the most humorous cinematic moments, when Batty takes Deckard by the hand from the edge of the roof after terrorizing him, chuckles, and asks "What are you doing?" Has Roy recognized a fellow replicant? Quite an emotional roller coaster there at the end of Bladerunner.

One of my favorite actors... Loved him in Bladerunner, but one of my favorites was him in the movie "The Hitcher" and also opposite Gene Simmons in "Wanted: Dead or Alive".

RIP...
