Hi all,

I recently flashed my 4,1 to a 5,1 and installed High Sierra to get my RX 580 working properly. One small issue is that I don't know where to go from here, considering the 580 isn't a flashable card.

My question is, how can I patch MacOS 13+ (preferably) without a bootscreen? Can I do the process with the OG GT 120 installed at the same time?

Edit- I saw posts saying if you use the GPU that is native to get past the boot screen, then ignoring root patches AFTER installing to disk. After that swap the GPUs and it should work after root patching.

(Mine is an XFX model. I've seen that they have issues but I don't know what issues specifically.)

**EDIT- IGNORE THIS, IT WORKS FINE NOW, IM JUST THAT BIG AN IDIOT**

Ladies and Gentlemen of MacRumors, I regret to inform you that the 580 died as I was watching youtube.

It heaved its final breath before artifacting and dying. I moved it over to my windows pc and got nothing, just a blank screen. Never in my life have I seen it happen, and it was so sudden.

After 6 years of dedicated service, it saw itself out. I now have to find a new gpu. What are the recommendations for easy OCLP installation? Just a new 580?
