Here
My mother has a Toshiba laptop and we wanted to connect it to our television. We have a cable but I am not sure if it has the right port. It has the letter "S" in a square with an arrow pointing towards the port. Although the port is blocked. I has a protective cap or something of the sort.

Is it S Video or something else and I shouldn't even bother?
Thanks

Does the port look like it could be plugged with a cable that has the following outlines?

The port is a circle but it is blocked. As in there is a black piece of plastic over the port.

The laptop probably doesn't have TV out then. Sounds like in an attempt to cut production costs, Toshiba is using the same case for laptops that can do TV out and those that can't, and just cover up the port on ones that can't.
