15 day old apple watch and the heart rate sensor was pretty accurate in the beginning but it has gone bad recently. It just shows my heart rate in the 80s all the time when its not. Is there a way to reset the sensors or something?

There is no direct way to reset the sensors. Try a hard reset by holding down the digital crown and power button for 10 seconds.

I have a quick question about the heart rate sensor - is the sensor supposed to give me a accurate reading in the first few seconds or gradually over a short period(say around 10-20 seconds)?

Think about it for a minute. The HRS measures your pulse and extrapolates the time between pulses to the displayed heart rate which is a value per minute. So it should give you more accurate readings the longer you wait. It should be spot on after 10 Seconds.

So the first reading it shows can be off? That makes sense.

My first and second readings have variations of around 7-8 bpm!
