I'm having an issue where my S4 Apple watch running the latest OS outputs volume in both my bluetooth headset as well as through its speaker. The watch is set to not make any noise, volume is turned off, voiceover is turned off as well.

I'm starting to workout, and have switched up my running app a few times. At first I thought it was a Nike Run Club problem, but I used Intervals Pro yesterday and it still happened. Each time its occurring, I'm using Spotify. If I pause spotify, the audio output stops ont he watch and only goes through bluetooth. I've looked through Spotify and can't find anything.

Anyone know how to get this fixed?

You shouldn't be able to get music to play out of your watch speaker at all.
in fact there have been a few threads here, with people upset that they can't do it.

The Spotify app on the watch is basically a glorified remote for the phone app.
your headphones should be paired with your phone, not the watch.

as far as I know (could have changed recently) the only app that actually supports playing music on the watch is Apple Music. But even that should only be through bluetooth headphones.
Btooth on the watch is only used for Apple Music, or phone calls.

I suggest rebooting your watch.
or if that doesn't work, and unpair and re-pair.

Its not that Spotify is playing through the watch speaker, its that the alerts from the running app are playing both on the watch speaker as well as the bluetooth headphones I have. If I stop playing spotify (which is playing through bluethooth headphones) then the watch speaker stops making any noise from the alerts and its only through the bluetooth headphones.

I'll try a reboot to see if this fixes it.

I'm the developer for Intervals Pro. Are you playing Spotify on your phone or on your watch? Are you running with both devices? You can also send me a support email. Just tap on the More tab in Intervals and scroll down to 'Email Us'.

I'm playing Spotify on the phone, and Intervals Pro on the watch. I still get audio output on my bluetoothe headphones when the watch is yapping too.

Today I ran with my watch only, and downloaded a podcast to my watch with Overcast. This time it played only through the headphones. I would still like this same option with Spotify though.
