Why are phone names so similar?? The average consumer will get very confused indeed!!

Besides that which one will you guys get?

Exactly, only people who care about tech would know the difference. The average joe might just want to grab an iphone s5 or a galaxy 5s. I'm worried for them actually.

the average joe will know to ask for an iphone and won't care about the 5s designation.

and for the moment, the problem does not even exist as there is no galaxy s5 to ask for.

What's an S5? :D

Depends on the hardware I guess, they are saying the S5 will be waterproof and have 16mp camera, personally I find Samsung phones too plasticy, I prefer the build of iPhones, metal and glass where as Samsung are plastic and glass.

I'm sure the samsung will be great, I have no interest however. Let's see what the iPhone 6 brings.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. It is an awesome phone. I prefer the plastic outer shell to Apple's metal and glass. I am not an Apple hater, I used to use an iphone 4. Just found for me it was all about being able to customize my phone and change it up whenever I wanted. I get bored of it being the same. iphones are good for people who just want a phone to work and don't care about customization.

I loved my S3 so much I got the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 last October. It is even more awesome. 5.7" screen, s Pen, and tons of great useful apps included right out of the box. Just my 2 cents.

Neither. The S5 is a bit of disappointment because it doesn't have optical image stabilization. And I'm perfectly happy with my jailbroken iPhone 5, over which the 5s wouldn't have been that big an upgrade justifying spending 700 euros on it.

My iPhone 5 being JB'n, it can beat all Android phones WRT some functionalities like recording Skype calls.

cant do everything :), no acestream / sopcast (use to watch european football), which you can then push through mhl with the phone screen off (!) thanks to screen standby
no equivalent to tasker..
could go on, but it's not so cut and dry

I used to think JB iOS was > android, but android does have some unique advantages too. Now I view them as basically equal fwiw.
