OH
So I bit the bullet and ordered the AW2 off Amazon because of sale and 5% cash back on my Amazon card. Historically, I have always restored from backup but I feel like I want a fresh clean install. I've had a few issues with notifications, etc. in the past year that vexed me so maybe this will clean things up.

Never having done that before, could I potentially run into issues with connecting it to my existing cellular plan (T-Mobile) or am I going to need to contact them, or worse yet, go into a store to have them do whatever needs to be done?

if you do a clean install remember that you can save your watch faces and then download them to the newly set up watch rather then having to set them up all over again. I've set up new watches as new and also have done it where I restore from backup. But I always save my watchfaces from the old watch.

Thing I learned today. You can save Apple watch faces to your Mac. Thanks.

Thanks, I only have a few faces I use and will likely use the one specific to the AWU for the most part anyway

SO the wife let you buy it after all. Congratulations. I started ultra 2 as new and it runs smooth with good battery life. 2 days using it often and 3 days if I use it rarely.

During pairing/setup you should be asked if you wish to transfer the cell plan. T-Mobile seems to handle this pretty well.

She didn't "let me", I just did it (with her knowledge). Thanks though. My stepson has been asking for an AW for his birthday later this month and rather than pay $250+ for an SE, I'll just give him my S7.

Add as new watch including removing cell plan & the re-adding cell plan when going through process. I found out at a very inconvenient time I could not make/receive calls while my AW7 was out in the wild without my phone on me.

This was after adding as a new watch & keeping my cell plan. After another fresh add as new watch & removing cell plan & re-adding, watch can now make/receive calls without phone. Same situation with a family members AW5 cell.

Buy the wife flowers
