I’m torn between getting the graphite and the silver. Is the coating different on the s8. I don’t know what one will show up scratches more. I read the silver is the best to polish. Only reason I want the SS over the aluminum is the glass. It would technically be my first Apple Watch but I just received my wife’s s3 and have a screen protector on it and already scrapped it (drive a truck for a living and rubbed it against the truck bed).

The Graphite is very hardy.
I've had three Graphite watches, knocked them a few times and only one had a mark that I only noticed that whilst scrutinising it before selling.
Beware of using a black or Graphite Milanese Loop as they are hard enough to mark up the casing and screen (very avoidable with care), but otherwise you'll be ok.

If I hadn't gone with the Ultra this year and the Series 8 was a bigger upgrade than it is over the 7, I'd have had no qualms choosing the Graphite again.

The silver scratches easily but is very easy to polish up like new, so that isn't an issue if you prefer the natural look.
