Is there anything that can be done for the ads on Safari, I really want to move away from Chrome but it just seems to be doing the job for me when Safari is limiting ad blocking options.
It's not supposed to block ads, it's supposed to prevent unique identifiers from being tied to your browsing history. So you basically don't see ads for those shoes you specifically looked at 20 minutes prior, maybe just shoes in general.
Another app to try is called Adblock Plus. I was using Wipr but now have switched to using Adblock Plus. Works well for blocking ads in YouTube. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/adblock-plus-for-safari-abp/id1432731683?mt=12
I personally have used Wipr (https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/wipr/id1320666476?mt=12) ever since it was released. Blocks ads, gets rid of white spaces, and significantly speeds up page loads. Works a charm on my iPhone and iPad also. I have tried other ad blockers but none are as consistent as Wipr.
Adguard desktop version is still Gold standard, best of the best. Filters all I/O traffic via network system wide. Super lightweight and well designed.
Stacksocial has amazing deals on life-long subscriptions.
