Its sluggish at times, has many memory issues when using Facebook, among other issues. I see that apple pulled it. When can we expect an updated version? I hate using Google Chrome.

Try disabling "web animations" (no obvious downside, you still get and see the same content): Develop - Experimental Features - Web Animations (untick).

No performance issues on my end.
