Safari 4 and animated gifs

My safari 4 beta hangs and becomes unresponsive and I believe it's due to the animated gifs.

The strange thing about this is that it only happens on my blackbook. The other macs are fine.

Any thoughts?

I have problems with that page, too (using S4). I think it's a known problem that has existed in Webkit for a while. If I remember correctly, the actual culprit isn't Safari itself but some bug in OS X's graphics framework / drivers that are used for rendering the animated GIF. :( Oh - and I'm on a Macbook CD btw...

Don't have any problems with the posted ani-gif in this thread, but that doesn't have to mean anything...
 
That website crashed Safari 4 for me 2 times in a row lol. Good thing it's still in beta or I'd be like wtf...

That is a very intensive GIF though... However FF handles it just fine.
 
yeah so the gifs arent workin at all on the windows safari 4, neither are any YouTube Videos...:confused:
 
I'm still having a problem with animated gifs... Causes the whole browser to lock up.
 
Animated GIFs suck on Safari 3 as well, but at least it doesn't beachball.

That page, however, did nearly max out one of my 4 processor cores and the GIFs still played very, very slowly. C'mon, Apple. Even my little Asus Atom-based netbook can do way better than that! It's embarrassing, really.
