Safari 4 downloads window

Is there a way to get the downloads window to not sit behind everything else? I never know if a download has started or not. If I could put it in a little bar on the bottom of the main window or something that'd be sweet too (like can be done in Firefox).

I found a hack for v.2 that basically made the download window a panel which kept it on top when Safari was active.

Any tips?
