I've been a very happy History Hound user for long enough to have 30,000 pages in my HH index. I love being able to find old pages by searching for key words from page content.

Now Safari can do this, too. My question is, what are the pros and cons of using Safari or HH to keep a "lifetime" history database for searching?

--does either do a better job of keeping the "forever history" database compact, or do the actual searches faster?

--will having a huge history bog Safari down as I open it or browse? (ie is it more efficient to keep the long-term history outside Safari, even though Safari CAN do it now)?

--other factors I should be considering?

thanks much
Jim
