Safari 5 Ridiculously Slow

Ever since I updated when Safari 5 came out, it's been ridiculously slow. About 5 times slower than Safari 4. I remember reading about such problems with Safari 5 and I tried all of the recommendations, but they didn't help. Some pages just won't load unless I try multiple times.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried the usual?

Empty cache
Reset Safari
Move Safari plist file to desktop and relaunch app
Repair disc permissions in Disc Utility

I was having the same issue. Came across this post in the apple discussion forum and helped me quite a bit.

Scroll down to Klaus1 post and see if any of that helps. Changing the DNS servers address helped tremendously.

What third party add-ons/plug-ins do you have installed?

Remove one by one until you find the culprit.

I don't find firefox slow at all.

reinstall

I would reinstall Safari if I was you. Worked for me when I had issues 2 months ago.
