I just got a new Mac Mini to replace my long-suffering iMac, and I was unable to use the migration assistant, so I have had to manually transfer stuff, which isn't a huge deal as it's sort of a housecleaning opportunity. :)

But here's the thing: I was formerly able to designate 5 homepages so that when I opened Safari, I would have 5 tabs, each with important websites in them.

I think that used to be done like this: http://www.1stPage.com/http://2ndPa...4thPage.com/blah.html/http://www.5thPage.com/

Am I misremembering? Is there no longer a way to do this? Or has it been removed? Or am I living in an alternate reality? :)

Thanks for any insights you all can offer.

There's a workaround of sorts that seems like your best option now. Take all 5 pages that you want to be set as your home screen and create a folder under Favorites. After you have all the pages you want added, you can open up Preferences -> General -> New windows open with: "Choose tabs folder" and point it at that folder. Hitting the home button won't open all 5 of those tabs back up, but creating a new window sure will.
