Safari 9.1 update Yosemite Google.com Not Loading

After the security update for Safari on Yosemite, Google.com is not loading, news.google.com works fine but if I try to manually type a search term into Google News it just displays the start of the blue progress bar but it never gets to the end.

Any suggestions?
