Just curious on this. When I mistype a website address in my Safari address bar, it takes me to a horrible search results page powered by Yahoo and heavily branded by my broadband provider, even though Google is my default search provider.

Is there a way to make this take me to a google search for what I put in the address bar instead of the crappy branded yahoo page?

Sounds like your ISP is using Proxy servers. You would need to talk to your ISP about that.

^You are exactly right. In my research I found that out, and determined it was too much hassle to worry with.

you download SafariSIA

you create a new "shortname" for google's feeling lucky

you set the url to
Code:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%@&btnI
and make sure this new shortname is set as default (clicking the left empty box until a dot appears)

then anything you type in the address bar will automatically use feeling lucky
